Cold temperatures got you down? At Bambinos, we believe that nothing warms you up faster than a hearty bowl of pasta or a freshly-made panini. However, we do have one other secret weapon when it comes to surviving tough winters: Missouri-brewed beer.
Don’t feel like getting out in this cold weather when you’re dining in Springfield Missouri? Stop by Bambinos and get some of our amazing carryout for dinner on your way home from work tonight. Check out four of our favorite winter brews to help you beat the chill that will pair perfectly with your meal.
Mudhouse Stout
Springfield Brewing Company is the granddaddy of Springfield’s vibrant brewery scene, and their seasonal Mudhouse Stout is proof. The team at Brew Co. worked with Mudhouse Coffee to produce this intense, aromatic coffee stout. The brew contains a blend of chocolate and roasted malts, Cascade finish hops and French Roast coffee for a rich, full flavor.
Pairs well with: This flavorful beer pairs great with meaty dishes like The Ziti, our traditional baked ziti made with tender chunks of roast beef.
Winter Shilling
Lost Signal Brewing Company is celebrating its one-year anniversary in early February. Until then, make sure to snap up Winter Shilling, their scotch ale with an attractive amber hue, deep caramel flavors and a cozy hop character almost reminiscent of tea. Sounds cozy, right?
Pairs well with: This Scotch ale pairs great with bold, flavorful foods like our portobello ravioli simmered in a marsala wine cream sauce.
Winter Grind
Winter Grind, the winter seasonal from Mother’s Brewing Company, is heavy on the coffee flavor. It’s far from overwhelming, though and and it’s available for you to order at Bambinos. It’s nicely supported by this English dry stout. This one also features beans from Mudhouse Coffee for a rich, malty brew that has a pleasantly dry finish.
Pairs well with: This rich stout is a great option for dessert—alongside our classic tiramisu for an extra coffee kick.
Snow & Tell
Although this beer isn’t brewed in SGF, we’re still big fans of Boulevard Brewing Company. This heavy scotch ale features a profile of toffee and caramel notes with just a hint of smoked malt for added coziness. Boulevard beers are available at Brown Derby, Wal-Mart and other convenient spots around town.
Pairs well with: This brew features subtle spicy notes that go well with our zesty Greek pasta.
