If you’re a coffee lover, then you already know that there really is nothing better than a great cup of coffee. Whether it’s coffee dates with friends, coffee at networking events or the morning coffee that many of us rely on to stay sane during busy workdays, one thing is certain—coffee makes the world go ‘round.
And, of course, there’s nothing better than a coffee with your evening tiramisu at your favorite Italian restaurant in Springfield Missouri.
But what if we told you that there was a way to give back to individuals in need? And that giving back could be as simple as buying a cup of coffee at our restaurants in Springfield Missouri? That’s where our partnership with Victory Coffee, a fundraising arm of Victory Mission, comes in.
Their Beans: Roasted by No Coast
Most Springfield residents are familiar with Victory Mission, a local nonprofit that serves the needs of low-income and homeless individuals in the Springfield area. What may come as a surprise are the many fundraising arms that support the organization’s mission—including Victory Coffee, a coffee service that we offer at B2 Cafe and both Bambinos Cafe locations.
Their beans are roasted in small batches by No Coast Coffee, a Springfield-based artisan coffee roaster providing specialty grade, sustainably sourced coffee from around the world. Victory Coffee supports Victory Mission’s vision to provide paid employment, licensed mental healthcare, overnight shelter, case management and other services for homeless and low-income individuals in our area.
Their Mission: Lift Up Our Neighbors
So, how does Victory Coffee work? It’s as easy as buying a cup of coffee. Every time you buy a cup of coffee at B2 Cafe or Bambinos Cafe, 100 percent of the proceeds go back into Victory Mission’s restoration program.
The restoration program is a 12- to 18-month program designed to empower people in crisis through emergency shelter, case management, mental health counseling, life skills classes, workforce development and other basic needs. Program participants also help to package and deliver the coffee, adding to job skills development.
The History: Serving Springfield Since 1976
Victory Mission began in 1976 as an effort to serve homeless individuals in downtown Springfield. Today, the outreach arm of the organization encompasses a wide variety of programs. Those programs include a food pantry, evening feeding program, senior luncheon, holiday baskets and much more.
Victory Mission also focuses on providing emergency shelter, drug and alcohol recovery programs and ongoing professional development for homeless and low-income individuals in the Springfield area.
While Victory Mission currently offers a wide variety of initiatives, it has humble roots: The organization’s founders began by distributing sandwiches and coffee from the back of their station wagon. In a way, Victory Coffee is a way for the organization to get back to its roots, demonstrating the power of a single cup of coffee.
