Our Favorite Local Outdoor Spots – Dining In Springfield Missouri
With the time change bringing extra daylight and the long range forecast calling for warmer weather, it looks like we’re finally going to get a break from all this cold and dreary weather. If, like us, you’re ready for Spring, check out our favorite outdoor spots in the Springfield area.
Phelps Grove Park
We’ve waxed poetic about our love for Phelps Grove Park before, but this community landmark is definitely worth mentioning again. First, it’s just a few blocks away from our original Delmar location. It’s also home to a well-manicured walking trail, a variety of fun playground equipment and dozens of quaint park benches. It’s a great option for your next party, barbecue or romantic outing. The only thing that could make it better? Grabbing an order of Bambinos carry-out for the perfect picnic.
We’re big fans of Mother’s Brewing Company, located a few miles away from Phelps Grove in the heart of downtown Springfield. The crew at Mother’s knows how to make the most of warm weather with their welcoming backyard—known affectionately as “Mother’s Backyard”—which is home to outdoor yoga classes, community kickball leagues and more. It’s also a laid-back place to sip a brew and enjoy some sunshine. And, yes, you can BYOB—Bring Your Own Bambinos, that is.
Jordan Valley Park
At first glance, Jordan Valley Park is a bit of a haul away from our original Delmar location, but it’s really just a leisurely bike ride away if you know how to navigate the Greenway trails. This park connects directly to everything downtown Springfield has to offer and features several art installations that set it apart as a true urban landmark. Plus, when summer comes around, the park’s decorative fountains become the perfect place for adventurous kiddos to splash around.
We admit we’re a little biased, but we truly believe that our dog-friendly patios at either Bambinos on Delmar or Bambinos on Battlefield are two of the best places in town to enjoy outdoor dining in Springfield Missouri. Don’t take our word for it. Come have a seat on our patio, settle in with an iced tea and an appetizer and get ready to bask in some well-deserved sunshine.
