When it comes to Italian food in Springfield, there are two types of people: those who love Bambino's and those who've simply not tried it. Though she's a native Springfieldian, reader Sharon Rone only recently discovered Bambinos Cafe. Now that she's tried it, though, she's hooked.

Tucked away in a neighborhood on the corner of East Delmar Street and South Florence Avenue lies a quaint and authentic slice of Italy known as Bambinos Cafe. While the restaurant is familiar to many, some may not know about the family that created Bambinos.

"I've always loved Bambino's," Kat Minx says. When Kat saw that there was one on the south side now, too, near her new home, she was ecstatic. Being next to the Greenways trail gives Kat the opportunity to ride her bike, stop for lunch and beer, and ride home. "It's nestled on the trail," she says. "It reminds me of being free."

Tucked away in the Phelps Grove neighborhood, one house on Delmar stands out from the rest of the residents. That's because not only is it a house but a restaurant as well.
